A.  PLENERIES

What are key characteristics of wholesome Youth Work? What must we do or not do in youth work? These 6 sessions brought about different aspects of youth works that need to be covered. Though it may not be all that is of youth work, it is certainly key areas of the ministry.

I.   Prophetic in Our Times
by Mr. Chew Phye Keat

We live in a world that has its own cultures and lifestyles. Our youth is constantly challenged by these cultures. It is tough living with values and lifestyles that are very different from the ways of the world. In this session, we learn about being prophetic in times like this. We need to constantly understand our world and be able to challenge our youth to live radically for Christ.

II.   Firm Foundation in the Word
by Rev. Dr. Hwa Yung

There are many voices in the world today. Our youth are getting confused and disillusioned by the different opinions that is available to them. Yet the Christian is called to stand firm on the Word of God. Is the Bible relevant today? How can we as youth workers move our youth towards standing firm in the Word of God?

III.   Kingdom Agents
by Rev. Steven Kum

We are called to be salt and light of the world. The challenge we face is living out this call. We want to be Christians in our lives and not by name only. How can we challenge our youth to live out this call? How do we inspire them, provoke them, harness them to become the Christians God intends of all His children?

IV. Restorative
by Dr. Goh Chee Leong

We live in a broken world. A big part of our ministry is in the ministry of healing amidst all the hurts and brokenness of our youth. We need to be agents of restoration. What is needed to serve in this area of ministry? How do we do it? Is restoration part of our ministry?

V. Living in Relational Communities
by Rev. Tony Lim
Our youth would not be able to survive without their gang of friends. They live and build communities wherever they go. This is one of their strengths. In this session, we explore how we can harness this strength to make theses communities enriching and full of the grace of God.
VI.   Tying All Together - A Contextualized Model
by Ms. Annette Arulrajah
In this session, we tie down all the key characteristics of youth ministry and come up with a model suitable for our church and Malaysia in general.
